RECAP – MEDIA SCREENING

Last night was the advanced screening of the anticipated Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete film at Sony Wonder Labs in midtown. We had some media attendees from the likes of Joystiq, CNET, MTV Iggy, Yahoo, Complex, Cine Fantastique, and ESPN.

FFAC is based completely in the realm of Final Fantasy VII, possibly the most popular RPG of the extremely renown series, Final Fantasy. Much of the new plot is simple to grasp, however a lot of the film content is based on things that only people who have played the game would understand. That asides, regardless of being able to understand the plot or not, anyone can appreciate the quality of CG animation and unique and beautiful character design. There are also numerous high-pace action scenes containing fights with anime-like physics, which are rarely seen, and even more rarely done well in CG films. The Blu-Ray version contained close to half an hour of added scenes throughout the movie which helped fill in some gaps or give fans some extra screen time of their favorite characters. Whether you’re a fan of the game or not, FFAC: Complete is definitely worth checking out. You can get your copy when it hits shelves in the U.S. on June 2, 2009.
